Just nestled in a tiny cul du sac next to a tea room and a gallery is a lesser known sculpture that is located at the gorgeous riverside in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Just stand inbetween the two buildings and look up at number 69 and you will see Sarafa the Ely Giraffe! It was installed in 2019 by Wesley West and is actually made of 230 meters of measuring tapes. There is a plaque on the wall that describes how she was made ranging from a small 3D model which was dissected in small parts and made 21X bigger!
Nearby there are couple of tearooms, parks and supermarkets. We have included a waymarker for parking however there are 3 carparks close by if that one is full.
To claim this virtual please do the following two tasks
1) Email or message how many benches there are along the river walking passed the gallery from the giraffe towards the waymarker parking and stopping at the railway bridge
2) A photo of you or if you are camera shy your gps with the giraffe in the background.
