My first memories of this area go way back to my childhood in the 60's when my family would come up to The Pines, camping out on Lake Eildon, near Goughs Bay. We camped at Bonnie Doon at times but always somewhere to be fishing on the lake, I think my dad was born with a fishing line in his hand.
As a young adult, once again camping at The Pines and riding trail bikes in the hills or water skiing on the lake. Not a care in the world in this beautiful place. Also spent many years snow skiing up at Mt Buller. Now as I approach my senior years I love visiting my holiday shack overlooking Lake Eildon and putting out geocaches around the area.
This area has so much happening, water sports through the summer, snow sports during the winter, horse riding, bike riding, trail walking, kayaking, motor bike riding, 4 wheel driving, motor sport with the High Country Targa, markets, rodeos, horse racing, camping and fishing, to name a few
Ahhh, I love this place...
