The first white settlers came to Surrey Centre in the 1870's. Old McLellan Road was first surveyed in 1859. Later it was re-surveyed and became a road in 1873. Surrey became a district municipality in 1879 and the council of 1881 chose Surrey Centre (because it was accessible by river and at the crossing of two roads) to build a town hall. Abe Huck donated four acres for the town hall site and the church. The cornerstone for the church was laid on August 6, 1884 and was completed by the end of that year.
Go to the posted coordinates and look for a large white sign on the side of the church for Task # 1. Take a few steps and turn and face south for Task #2 .

Task # 2. Turn around and check out the view this lovely little church has from atop this hill. Take a selfie with the view in the background, or have a friend take your picture with the view behind you and include it with your found log. If you don't want your face in the photo, you may take a picture of the view with your caching name on a piece of paper. Attach your photo to your log.
I stongly suggest you do this Virtual cache during daylight hours. It will be much easier to find the view!
