Geocache Description:

Muffler men are large moulded fiberglass sculptures that are placed as advertising icons, roadside attractions or for decorative purposes, predominantly in the United States. Standing approximately 18–25 ft, the first figure was a Paul Bunyan character designed to hold an axe. Derivatives of that figure were widely used to hold full-sized car mufflers, tires, or other items promoting various roadside businesses. International Fiberglass of Venice, California constructed most Muffler Men. While the fiberglass figures are no longer manufactured, many still exist throughout a number of states across the United States with some also in Canada. At least four remain on U.S. Route 66, including Chicken Boy and Gemini Giant.

The " Big Man" as we affectionately refer to him, is western Massachusetts' only muffler man and one of two in the state. His hands are in the standard muffler man position; he had originally been holding a pitchfork. The current owners purchased him years ago after he had a very eventful life. He had been shot, stolen by college students and had spent some hard time at the local nudist camp, prior to being completely refurbished in 2017.

To log this virtual simply take a photo of "The Big Man" along with one of the following to prove it is recent: your GPS, a trackable, or a set of keys. Logs without these requirements may be deleted. Selfies are encouraged but are not required for logging purposes. Please, no photoshopped logs. As per the guidelines for virtual caches, you must physically visit the location to claim the find.
