Directions to the lake.
You'll leave the main road at N 43 51.272 W 110 31.205. Then you have a 4.5 mile, 20 minute drive to the lake. This is through meadows, aspen groves, conifer forests and beautiful views.
The lake
Two Ocean Lake is was glacially formed. The Two Ocean Lake Trail is 6.4 miles (10.3 km) long and circles the lake passing through forests and clearings. You do not need to hike this trail but it is a great opportunity.
Two Ocean Lake was named for Two Ocean Pass about 25 miles (40 km) to the northeast where Atlantic Creek flows east and Pacific Creek flows west. Two Ocean Lake only flows into Pacific Creek so the name is a misnomer.
The requirement
Take a look at the information sign and you'll find the elevation of the trail head. Don't use your phone. To qualify for this virtual cache, send an email to the elevation and feet@gmail.com. If the elevation is 7777 feet, you would send an email to 7777feet@gmail.com. You'll get an immediate response. If you don't get a response in a couple of minutes, the elevation you submitted is incorrect. Good luck.
Why did I place this here?
There are lots of great places in this park and Yellowstone but this one is off the beaten path. While there were thousands of people in the park the day I placed it, there were only 15 cars in this parking log. One group of hikers said they only saw 4 other people on the 6.4 mile hike. Come and enjoy the quiet.
