Čekat se dá všude možně. Tradičně třeba na nádraží, ve frontě nebo u zubaře. Ale tato místa nejsou k čekání moc oblíbená. Jsou však i místa k čekání snad přímo stvořená, třeba takové čekání na kamarády v hospodě se dá celkem dobře vydržet. Jen je zde jedno nebezpečí, pokud se kamarádi příliš zdrží, tak už čekající může být více či méně nepoužitelný k jakékoliv jiné činnosti než čekání (na zavírací hodinu příslušné občerstvovny).
Čekání je sice činnost nenáročná, ale přesto spíše neoblíbená. Někdo čeká trpělivě, jiný nervózně, další se raději rozhodne aktivně proti čekání bojovat, například tím, že preventivně chodí všude pozdě.
Jen málokdo však umí čekat tak odhodlaně a trpělivě jako Adam Čekač. Tuto svoji činnost provádí na místě, v Brně tradičně této činnosti vyhrazeném - na Čáře - pod hodinami. Hmm, tedy..., POD není tak úplně přesné. On čeká spíš VEDLE hodin.
Ano, ti znalejší začínají tušit. Adam Čekač není jen tak někdo. Jde o nejmenší brněnskou sochu umístěnou ve veřejném prostoru na známých hodinách na křižovatce ulic Česká a Joštova.
Autorem této miniatury je sochař a zubní technik v jedné osobě - Václav Sigurson Kostohryz. Podle něj Adam čeká na svou milovanou, ta však ne a ne přijít.

It’s possible to wait anywhere. Traditionally, we wait at the train station, in a queue or at the doctor's office. However, those are considered to be rather unpopular spots. Nevertheless, some other spots are just as if they've been made for waiting - for instance, waiting for a friend in a pub’s not that bad. There’s just the danger of being more or less incapable of any decent conversation with your friends, should you be waiting for too long (perhaps the only thing you’d be capable of is to wait for the pub to close).
Waiting is indisputable an undemanding activity, yet still a rather unpopular one. Some might wait with patience, some nervously, and others prefer to actively fight the “waiting” by coming late as a precautionary measure.
However, no one can wait as committedly and patiently as the Waiting Adam (Adam Čekač). He’s performing such an activity in the city Brno in a place frequently reserved for it – under the clock at Česká street. Hmm, well… “under” is not exactly accurate. He’s more like next to the clock to tell you the truth.
Yes, the more knowledgeable of you may have already guessed it. The Waiting Adam isn’t just some guy. He is the smallest statue in Brno that can be found in public – more precisely on the clock at the intersection of the Česká and Joštova streets.
The author of this miniature is a sculptor and a dental technician – Václav Sigurson Kostohryz. According to him, Adam is waiting for his beloved but she just won't show up.

Podmínky pro uznání logu.
Povinné:
- Opiš číslo z nejbližší lampy veřejného osvětlení. To mi pošli do Message centra nebo na můj mail v profilu. (TSB xxxx yyy)
- Ke svému logu na webu přilož fotografii, na které bude vidět Adam a:
- vy
- nebo část vaší postavy
- nebo vyfocený čitelný nick, vaše CWG nebo jiný předmět, který vás jednoznačně reprezentuje.
Pro uznání logu musí být splněny obě podmínky.
Pokud lovíte ve skupině, stačí jeden mail s odpovědí a seznamem všech lovců a klidně pořiďte jednu fotografii celé skupiny s Adamem, ale přiložte ji ke každému jednotlivému logu.
Nepovinné:
- Pokud budete chtít potěšit Adama i ownera, přiložte fotografii, na které ztvárníte, jak pod hodinami čekáte vy. Vaší kreativitě se meze nekladou a owner se těší na vaše nápadité kreace. A Adam určitě ocení každé rozptýlení, které mu jeho dlouhé čekání zpříjemní.

- Attach a photo of Adam and:
- either you
- or part of your body
- or an item that directly represents you (CWG, readable nickname, etc.) into the listing.
In order to accept the log entry, both of the abovementioned conditions must be met.
If you’re hunting this cache in a group, only one email with the correct answer with the list of all of the geocachers needs to be sent. Also, you can attach a photo of the whole group (and with Adam in it or course), however, you need to attach the photo to every individual log entry.
Optional conditions:
- If you’d like to cheer Adam and the owner up you can attach a photo with you actually waiting under the clock. There are no limits to your creativity and the owner looks forward to your creative ideas. Even Adam would surely appreciate any distraction that could make his long waiting more enjoyable.
