About the Platypus Arts Trail
The Platypus Arts Trail celebrates the wonderful wildlife, local plant species, rivers and other special natural features of Bacchus Marsh and surrounds... including our iconic platypus!
The first artwork to be installed for the Arts Trail is the 'Platypus River' mural at the Grant St entrance to Peppertree Park, Bacchus Marsh, on the outside wall of the current Bacchus Marsh Swimming Pool (artist: Lukas Kasper).
The 'Platypus River' mural contains the following animals and plants, all of which occur along the Werribee River through Bacchus Marsh (they are all native to this area):
The shapes and colours in the mural represent some of the other local native plants found along the Werribee River, Bacchus Marsh.
