Varbergs torg Virtual reward 3.0 (en hyllning till webcam cachen)
Varbergs stad i dess nuvarande läge är uppförd efter att den tidigare staden vid platsarna drabbats av en förödande brand 1666. Staden är uppförd i ett rutnät efter stadsbyggnadsmönster etablerade av Hippodamus i antikens Grekland. I enlighet med detta lämnades ett kvarter obebyggt i stadens centrum för att användas vid torghandel, parader och andra företelser, inte minst som allmän mötesplats för stadens invånare. Efter ännu en stadsbrand 1863 utvidgades torgets storlek ytterligare. Runt torget uppfördes paradbyggnader enligt gällande representationsarkitektur.
Varbergs torg är ett av de största i Sverige och omgärdas av Sparbankshuset i söder, rådhuset i öster, Varbergs kyrka i norr och slutligen, Stadshotellet i väster.
Onsdagar och lördagar är torgdagar året runt. Under april - september kl 07.00 - 16.00 och från oktober - mars är tiderna kl 08.00 - 15.00. (Kan vara bra att ha koll på inför besöket)

Loggningsinstruktioner
1. Ta dig till de angivna koordinaterna och lokalisera gränslinjen som bildas av de grå respektive röda gatstenarna.
2. Ta en selfie eller fota en del av dig själv eller en skylt med ditt Geocachingnamn med torget som bakgrund(du behöver inte visa ansiktet om du inte vill). Ett önskvärt alternativ till detta loggningsförfarande är att öppna den publika webbkameran MEDview: Varbergs torg med hjälp av din smartphone och placera dig så att du står i området nedanför/framför flaggstångsknoppen i kamerabilden och ta en skärmbild som du postar med din logg. Du behöver inte visa ansiktet, som förmodligen är svårt att urskilja på så långt avstånd ändå. Bär gärna något färgstarkt eller föremål som gör att det går att identifiera dig/er om det är mycket folk på platsen vid ditt besök.
3. Ladda upp bilden med din logg.
Om du inte har tillgång till en smartphone kan du kontakta en vän som har tillgång till internet som kan logga in och göra skärmdumpen åt dig och därefter skicka bilden till dig innan du postar den med din logg.

The Square of Varberg (A tribute to the webcam cache)
The city of Varberg was moved to its current position after a devastating citywide fire in 1666 destroyed the old city. The new city was built after a Hippodamian grid plan where the city is divided into square blocks, of which one was left unbuilt as a square. This square is one of Swedens biggest of its kind and functions as a marketplace and general meeting place.
The square is surrounded by the Sparbanken building in the south, the Town Hall to the east, the Church of Varberg to the north and the Stadshotellet building to the West in front of you.
Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the entire year are market days. From April - September between 7 am and 4 pm, and from October - March between 8 am and 3 pm. (worth considering before your visit)
Logging instructions
1. Go to the cache coordinates and stand on the dividing line formed where grey tiles meet red tiles in the square in front of the Stadshotellet and Asia Spa building(the given coordinates).
2. Take a selfie of yourself, part of yourself or a big card with your geocaching name written on it and the square as background. A desirable alternative to this procedure is to visit the webcam MEDview: Varbergs torg to make a screenshot of yourself or a big sign with your Geocaching name to post with your log as evidence of your visit. (You don't need to show your face.) Place yourself so that you are visible in the immediate area in front of the flagpole sticking out from the balcony in the picture, and then make a screenshot of yourself.
(if you don't have a smartphone you can to contact a friend with internet access who can visit the webcam address and make the screenshot for you and post it to you before you log the cache.)
3. Upload the picture with your log.
