A Trip to See ‘Lochie’ the new Loch-Eel Monster at Lochiel
The tiny town of Lochiel – 125km north of Adelaide – has a new Loch Ness monster, dubbed “Lochie”. And it lives on our state’s most popular pink lake, Lake Bumbunga.
Meet “Lochie” – the cousin of the old Loch-Eel loch ness monster at Lake Bumbunga
The sculpture is a new addition for South Australia’s most popular pink lake. Installed in March 2021, it’s part of a $450,000 Lake Bumbunga tourism project by Wakefield Regional Council. It’s supported by the Lochiel Progress Association and the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
The project, aimed at luring more visitors to the area, also includes a new viewing platform, toilets, a playground and picnic area, town entrance signs, free public Wi-Fi, and enhanced car parking.
To log a find on this cache you will need a photo of you or your geocaching name in the photo frame at the Virtual coordinates OR a photo of you or your geocaching name with Lochie in the photo.
