At the posted coordinates, you will find a remarkable art installation titled "Read Between the Signs." The project was created in 2002 by Amara Geffen and her art students from Allegheny College. The installation is approximately 1,200 feet long and utilizes reclaimed road signs as its primary medium. It shares the space with PennDOT's Crawford County maintenance station.
While the metallic art piece installation runs parallel to the Smock Highway (Routes US-320, US-9, and US-6), there is ample shoulder space between you and the road. That said, exercise caution when enjoying this incredible collection of public art. The terrain is rated as 2 because of its proximity to the road.
