A Virtual Cache in honour of one of Canada's Longest Living RCMP Veterans
William "Bill" Fridgen died in May of 2022 at the age of 105.
At the time, Bill was Canada's oldest living RCMP veteran.

Fridgen's career with the RCMP took him through three provinces from 1941 to 1974, but it was his badge number that made him a sort of celebrity. Members of the RCMP have service numbers and Bill's fame stemmed from his very old service number, 13967, beginning with a one. Fridgen would draw a crowd of on-duty RCMP officers when he would visit Parliament Hill, being known as a 'One'. Since he joined the RCMP, more than 50,000 officers have enlisted.
This Virtual cache is located at Bill's final resting place in the beautiful Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery east of Cardinal, ON.
