La luce di Alessandro Volta a Como

Costruito nel 1927 su progetto dell’ingegnere Gabriele Giussani nella località San Maurizio a Brunate, il Faro voltiano è un regalo di Como al genio del suo cittadino Alessandro Volta, a 100 anni dalla sua morte. Il Faro, a pianta ottagonale, è una torre di 29 metri di altezza che domina tutta la vallata sottostante. Di notte il Faro illumina Como e la convalle con fasci di luce bianca, rossa e verde.

The light of Alessandro Volta in Como 

Built in 1927 on a project by the engineer Gabriele Giussani in the locality of San Maurizio in Brunate, the Voltiano Lighthouse is a gift from Como to the genius of its citizen Alessandro Volta, 100 years after his death. The Lighthouse, with an octagonal plan, is a tower of 29 meters high that dominates the entire valley below. At night the lighthouse illuminates Como and the valley with beams of white, red and green light.
