Geocache Description:

Splash about in rock pools, discover a hidden forest or dive in to get up close with thousands of fish on Goat Island /Motu Hāmure). Beneath the waves you may see seaweed forests, sponge gardens, snapper/tāmure and crayfish/koura.

There are several Goat Islands but only one Goat Island Reserve. Since goats are so frugal with their water metabolism that they can thrive on a diet of foliage without water. Hence these islands were were called goat islands which were used by early settlers for food when they couldn't find enough birds to eat. There are no pig islands because, although pigs can't fly, they are very good swimmers, and so it was only the goats that remained there.

To claim this cache, please answer the following questions:

1 - At the cache site you will find a brass object standing on the rocks. Only half of it is left. Can you tell me what it resembles and optionally do you know what happened to the missing half? ( Best guess accepted.)
2 - Continue on to the information center located at S 36° 16.220' E 174° 47.759' . Here you will find two triangular pillars with nine pictures. I want you to email me a list of ALL nine of the aquatic creatures featured on each of the boards here?
3 - Take a photo of yourself or something identifiable of yourself, Goat Island and the brass sculture (mentioned in question 1) Please upload this to your online log.
