Welcome to Taiwan! This is a new landmark for Taoyuan International Airport.
The old 46-meter tall air traffic control tower provided service since 1979 and had become more and more saturated to absorb the growth of the air traffic for passenger and cargo flights. The New Taoyuan International Airport Air Traffic Control Tower was commissioned on 2019/12/16. The design was inspired by the famous Queen's Head rock in New Taipei City's Yehliu Geopark with smooth shape to overcome strong seasonal winds in the winter. The new tower is 65 meters above the ground, providing a better visibility over new terminal expansions and large hangers. The control room is equipped with state-of-the-art operating systems. You may not see the old tower because it’s scheduled to be demolished by the end of 2022.
The post coordinates is at the north side of observation deck at 5F in Terminal 2. Please take the elevator next to the check-in counter no.1 on 3F. The opening hours are 06:30 - 22:30 everyday currently. Once you arrive the deck, walk to northeast corner and face east side and you will find the tower.
