In het mooie brabantse Budel tegen de belgische en limburgse grens heerst een gemoedelijke sfeer. Iedereen is welkom in ons gezellige dorp, waar gastvrijheid voorop staat. Toen ons een virtual cache werd aangeboden was meteen duidelijk waar wij deze wilde plaasten. Namelijk bij het beeld van de Budelse kunstenaar Sjeng Caris (* 24-12-1938 † 14-02-2019) geplaatst in 1994.
Os Moen (Budels dialect voor ‘ons moeder’) is een bronzen beeld van een moederfiguur die brood snijdt. Ze verzinnebeeldt de Budelse gemoedelijkheid en gastvrijheid. De vrouw des huizes zorgde als middelpunt van de vroeger zo grote gezinnen voor een gemoedelijke sfeer. Een onverwachte eter kon altijd aanschuiven. Dat is eigenlijk nog steeds zo, want “in Buul kieke willie nè zoe nauw”. Typisch fenomeen voor onze streek: familie en vrienden (“bekind vollek”) nemen altijd de achterdeur. De voordeur is er voor de pastoor en collectanten…
Opdracht:
Maak een gezellige foto met " Os moen " waar u zelf of uw cachenaam in beeld is. Plaats deze bij uw log, zodat ik kan zien dat u hier ook werkelijk was.. Logjes zonder foto worden verwijderd !

Os Moen (Budel dialect for 'our mother') is a bronze statue of a mother figure cutting bread. She symbolizes the Budel geniality and hospitality. As the center of the formerly so large families, the lady of the house ensured a convivial atmosphere. An unexpected eater could always drop by. That is actually still the case, because "in Buul kieke willie nè zo nauw". A typical phenomenon for our region: family and friends ("bekind vollek") always take the back door. The front door is there for the pastor and collectors....

Take a cozy picture with " Os moen " where you yourself or your cache name is in the picture. Place this with your log, so I can see that you were actually here.... Logs without photo will be deleted !
