This area is known locally as 'Spice Island', referencing a time when it was a lively place of revelry and debauchery. From here you have a splendid view of Portsmouth Harbour, the Spinnaker Tower, Portsdown Hill and much more.
The geocache
To log this geocache, all you need to do is take a photo of yourself (or of something with your geocaching name on it) at this spot in front of any vessel entering or leaving the harbour. That's all! However, for an extra challenge, you can earn points if the vessel is one of these:
- 10 points: Aircraft carrier
- 9 points: Cruise ship
- 8 points: Foreign navy ship
- 7 points: British navy ship
- 6 points: Ferry heading to France or Spain
- 5 points: Container or cargo ship
- 4 points: Yacht or other sailing ship
- 3 points: Ferry heading to the Isle of Wight
- 2 points: Speedboat or RIB
- 1 point: kayak or canoe
