La Macchina Fissa
Uno dei punti nodali della storia della tenuta Ca’ Corniani è l’edificio che ospita l’impianto idrovoro. Edificato nel 1880, era il primo impianto fisso idrovoro della zona, in contrapposizione alle pompe “mobili” utilizzate per la bonifica fino a quel tempo.
La portata innovativa di questo impianto è stata tale da essere diventata un “toponimo”: le strade comunali che conducono qui si chiamano tutte “Macchina Fissa”.
Dalle pompe all’interno dell’edificio dipendeva la vitalità dell’Azienda: Ca’ Corniani si trova mediamente a 50cm sotto il livello medio delle acque. Di frequente quindi era necessario che le grosse pompe idrauliche contenute in questo fabbricato si azionassero (per giorni e giorni ininterrottamente) per mantenere lontano dai terreni coltivati l’acqua che si raccoglieva in questo grande bacino che è Ca’ Corniani.
Insieme agli argini, l’idrovora è certamente il manufatto che più ha inciso nella bonifica di questa azienda.

One of the nodal points in the history of the Ca' Corniani estate is the building that houses the pumping plant. Built in 1880, it was the first fixed water pumping plant in the area, as opposed to the "mobile" pumps used for reclamation up to that time.
The innovative scope of this plant was such as to have become a "toponym": the municipal roads that lead here are all called "Fixed Machine".
The vitality of the company depended on the pumps inside the building: Ca' Corniani is on average 50cm below the average water level. Therefore, it was frequently necessary for the large hydraulic pumps contained in this building to be activated (for days and days without interruption) to keep the water that collected in this large basin that is Ca' Corniani away from the cultivated land.
Together with the embankments, the dewatering pump is certainly the artifact that has had the greatest impact on the reclamation of this company.
