Hudiksvall – Sundskanalen/ Möljen
Den cirka 500 meter långa Sundskanalen är Lillfjärdens naturliga utlopp i havet genom Hudiksvalls centrum.
Från början låg Hudiksvalls hamn inne i den väl skyddade Lillfjärden, men genom landhöjningen blev kanalen till slut för smal och grund för att de större fartygen skulle ha en chans att ta sig igenom. 1615 flyttades så handelshamnen ut till havet och den plats där den fortfarande ligger.
Kanalen hade dock fortsatt stor betydelse. Vid sidorna hade fiskarna sina sjöbodar och det var hit de seglade med sina fångster och hade försäljning. Merparten av dagens sjöbodar uppfördes under 1800-talet i en stil med betydligt äldre anor. De är idag ett signum för Hudiksvall och används som affärs- och lagerlokaler.
Möljen är ett välbesökt torg nära kanalen och hamnen i Glada Hudik.
Här finns Hudiksvalls kända, gamla, vackra sjöbodar som inrymmer hantverksbutiker och restauranger.
Under sommartid arrangeras, torghandel, evenemang och underhållning med musik och teater m.m. Här kan du strosa runt, äta glass och njuta av sol och värme.
Flera scener från filmen "Hur många lingon finns det i världen" spelades in på Möljen i Glada Hudik.

Hudiksvall – Sundskanalen/ Möljen
The approximately 500 meter long Sundskanalen is Lillfjärden's natural outlet in the sea through the center of Hudiksvall.
From the beginning, Hudiksvall's harbor was inside the well-protected Lillfjärden, but through the land uplift, the canal eventually became too narrow and shallow for the larger ships to have a chance to get through. In 1615, the trading port was moved out to sea and the place where it still lies.
However, the channel continued to be of great importance. At the sides, the fishermen had their boathouses and it was here that they sailed with their catches and had sales. Most of today's boathouses were built during the 19th century in a style with much older origins. They are today a hallmark of Hudiksvall and are used as business and warehouse premises.
Möljen is a well-visited square near the canal and the harbor in Glada Hudik. Here you will find Hudiksvall's famous, old, beautiful boathouses that house craft shops and restaurants. During the summer, market trade, events and entertainment with music and theater etc. are arranged. Here you can stroll around, eat ice cream and enjoy the sun and heat.
