Welcome to the foreshore precincts of Gladstone, Queensland.
In 2021, the Gladstone Ports Corporation commissioned a local artist to produce seven wooden carvings depicting some of the wildlife that can be found in and around the harbour.
Alas, only two of the seven critters are marked with the sculptor’s two-letter initials.
To claim this cache, you must message the cache owner with
1) Initials of the sculptor (carved on the base of two sculptures in letters approximately 50mm high)
2) The sculptor’s given names (Christian name and Surname)
3) A photograph of one ‘initialled’ carving with a personal item of yours, proving it was you that found the sculpture. Note that a 'personal item' may be a trackable or perhaps even a piece of paper with your Geocacher name on it.
Please do not share answers with anyone or let others know which carvings are initialled (don’t be a spoiler!)
This area presents you with so many more opportunities. After you have landed this cache, you can go on to cool down at the Spinnaker Park beach or the East Shores water park, enjoy a picnic or barbeque in the parklands (on the free-to-use GPC maintained hot-plates), watch an outdoor movie (when operating), inspect the dry-docked HMAS Gladstone or have a meal at the foreshore restaurant/brewery … all in a clean, family-safe environment.
Please respect our jewel by taking away lots of good memories and leaving only footprints.
