Geocache Description:

(EN) Žički Manor was built between 1621 and 1631 by the Žički Carthusians, who ruled here for 600 years. The manor was an important economic center for them. Its premises were once richly furnished and luxurious. In a niche in the eastern Outer Chapel, there is a high-quality baroque sculpture of St. John the Baptist, which was supposed to have been brought from the Žička Carthusian Church after the First World War. Special attention is paid to the chapel, which is decorated with well-preserved stucco. It is the highest-quality harmful work in Slovenian Styria and is closely related to the tomb of Emperor Ferdinand II. in Graz, as the crypt with its stucco decoration is very similar to the Oplotnik one. Some chapels had rich furnishings and oil painting effects. The wrought iron fence is particularly famous, and one survived because it was thrown into the attic. The chapel also had an altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
