Geocache Description:

On February 23, 1923, the foundations for the establishment of Mount Isa were created when John Campbell Miles discovered the area was rich in lead ore and decided to set up some mining leases here.

To celebrate the city's centenary year in 2023, there will be a range of events, activities and commemorations throughout the year.

The clock that you stand before commemorates John Campbell Miles who uncovered the mineral deposits which led to the opening of the Mount Isa Mine. The clock also holds his ashes.

Simply take a photograph of something that identifies YOU in front to the tower, and attach it to your LOG.
