Sissi's unique statue - Virtual Reward 3.0 Virtual Cache

A szobor azért különleges, mert Magyarországon nagyon kevés olyan Sissi szobor van, ahol állattal ábrázolták a királynét.

A szobor Ferenc József császár, magyar király feleségét, Wittelsbach Erzsébetet, azaz Sisit ábrázolja. Ő lett Erzsébetfalva, a mai Pesterzsébet elődjének névadója. Amikor a frissen alakult falu vezetősége megkereste, hogy használhatják-e a nevét, "a Császárnő és Királynő Őfelsége a legkegyesebben megengedni méltóztatott, hogy a Tost Gyula és érdektársai által alapított telep Erzsébetfalvának neveztessék" - olvasható egy 1873-as oklevélben.

A szobor a Pesterzsébeti Városháza előtt, a Kossuth tér bal sarkán áll, 2004-ben állították fel.

A bronzból készült szobrot Meszlényi Molnár János alkotta egy híres, 1869-es fénykép alapján, amely Sisit szétterülő szoknyában, kedvenc farkaskutyájával ábrázolja.

A szobor gyermekek és felnőttek kedvenc találkozóhelye. Lassan hagyomány, hogy a közeli házasságkötő teremből az ifjú pár a Sisi szoborhoz megy és az esküvői képeket ott készítik el róluk.

Meszlényi-Molnár János Budapesten született 1969-ben. 15 éves kora óta foglalkozik szoboröntéssel. A figurális szobrászat képviselője. Közel 100 köztéri alkotás az országban az ő műhelyéből került ki. Ezenkívül szobor-rekonstrukciókban és renoválásokban is részt vesz. Elsősorban bronzzal, papírral és samottal dolgozik. Szobrai elkészítésénél szinte egyedülálló módon a legelső stádiumtól a legutolsóig mindent maga végez.

Erzsébet minden kétséget kizáróan imádta a kutyáit, akik a kastélyban is követték a gazdájukat. Mi sem bizonyítja ezt jobban, mint hogy többször kapták őt lencsevégre egy-egy kutyájával, mint a szűkebb családjával. Kedvenceiről még külön portrékat is készíttetett, legtöbbet az ír farkaskutyáról.

Egyik kedvenc fajtája az ír farkas volt, amelyből az első kölyköt Viktória királynőtől kapta ajándékba, és Shadownak nevezte el. Állítólag a nagyobb kutyákat részesítette előnyben, azonban számtalan kép készült róla kistestű fajtákkal is.

A királyné a kutyák gondozására külön embert foglalkoztatott, aki magát a királyi ebek gondozójának hívatta.

Sissi két kedvenc kutyáját, egy Shadow és egy Platho névre hallgató ebet, a Gödöllői Kastély kertjében temettek el egymás mellé.

Érdekesség, hogy tíz évvel később Keszthelyen is olyan szobrot állítottak a tiszteletére, mely kutyával ábrázolja a királynét. Ennek alkotója Tóth Dávid.

The statue is special because there are very few Sissi statues in Hungary where the queen was depicted with an animal.

The statue depicts the wife of Emperor Francis Joseph, King of Hungary, Elisabeth Wittelsbach, i.e. Sisi. She became the namesake of Erzsébétfalva, the predecessor of today's Pesterzsébet. When the management of the newly founded village asked if they could use its name, "Her Majesty the Empress and Queen most graciously deigned to allow the settlement founded by Gyula Tost and his partners to be called Erzsébétfalva", reads a document from 1873.

The statue stands in front of Pesterzsébet Town Hall, on the left corner of Kossuth Square, and was erected in 2004.

The bronze statue was created by János Meszlényi Molnár based on a famous photograph from 1869, which depicts Sissi in a flowing skirt with her favorite wolf dog.

The statue is a favorite meeting place for children and adults. It is slowly becoming a tradition that the newlyweds go from the nearby wedding hall to the Sisi statue and have their wedding photos taken there.

János Meszlényi-Molnár was born in Budapest in 1969. He has been casting sculptures since he was 15 years old. Representative of figurative sculpture. Nearly 100 public works in the country came out of his workshop. He also participates in statue reconstructions and renovations. He mainly works with bronze, paper and wool. When making his sculptures, he does everything himself, from the very first stage to the very last, in an almost unique way.

Elizabeth undoubtedly adored her dogs, who followed their master around the castle. Nothing proves this better than the fact that he was caught on camera more often with one of his dogs than with his immediate family. He even had special portraits made of his favorites, most of them Irish wolfhounds.

One of his favorite breeds was the Irish Wolfhound, the first pup of which he received as a gift from Queen Victoria and named Shadow. It is said that he preferred larger dogs, but countless pictures were taken of him with small breeds as well.

The queen employed a special person to take care of the dogs, who called himself the caretaker of the royal dogs.

Sissi's two favorite dogs, a dog named Shadow and a dog named Platho, were buried next to each other in the garden of Gödöllő Castle.

It is interesting that ten years later a statue depicting the queen with a dog was also erected in her honor in Keszthely. Its creator is Dávid Tóth.
