Geocache Description:

In May of 2019, Guido van Helten travelled to Charleville to paint their water tower.

The youth of Charleville are the feature on this tower which has been painted in Guido’s now signature monochromatic mural style. Painted in a 3D style around this very tall and narrow 30 metre high tower are four children intertwined through sport.

Separated by 200 km, Cunnamulla and Charleville are joined by the rivalry they share of a simple game. They meet twice a year which culminates in a grand final where they are destined to compete. The mural represents to significance of the game to the community.

The Charleville mural design is related to the neighbouring community of Cunnamulla. Together these artworks form the broader concept of cooperation and diversity in south west Queensland.

The mural has been made possible with funding from RADF. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Murweh Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Large verge side parking is available at this site in this quiet country town. Suitable for caravans and motor-homes alike.

This site is also fully fenced.

Simply take a photograph of something that identifies YOU in front to the tower, and attach it to your LOG.
