Welcome to EWR, and welcome to NJ! I recently travelled through LAX and enjoyed the virtual cache there quite a bit, so I was inspired to use my virtual reward to place a cache in my "own" airport: Newark International Airport, now known as Newark Liberty Airport since 9/11, or just good old EWR ☺️
(as a side note, I've always wondered why it was called EWR. Wouldn't NEW or NWR or NRK make more sense? I finally looked it up and discovered that The navy had reserved all codes beginning with N at that time, so Newark had to improvise)
Logging requirements:
1. At the virtual cache location(on the top floor), stand under the WELCOME sign and look East over the railing of the bridge toward floor below you (This is the international gate exit , so you would also be able to complete this cache from the hall exiting international flight customs) and observe the square themed posters on both sides of the hallway walls with well-known people on them. There is one word in common that is easily visible on many of the posters. Simply message me the one word. (It's not WELCOME)

2. Optional- "Jersey Strong" is a slogan that began as a way to inspire and define the resiliance the Jersey Shore had building back after Hurricane Sandy 10 years ago. Similar slogans have been used before and since to highlight the strength of humanity to come back fighting after they've been knocked down. Many things seek to divide us poliitcally, ethnically, religiously, etc. But our common strenths unite us(aside from geocaching 😉)- caring for one another in tough times, sacrificing for others-even strangers, and loving one another despite any differences. If you want, you can share a story of resiliency or fortitide in your log, either a personal one, or one that inspires you.
