The BearRiverCrew (from Boston, MA) visited Big Sky to ski/ride in Feb 2023 and found there weren't many caches in the greater Big Sky area. With a virtual to place before March 1st, this seemed like a great location.

Lone Mountain and Big Sky:
Lone Mountain (11,167 feet (3,404 m)) is in the Madison Range in the U.S. state of Montana. According to wikipedia, Lone Mountain is the tenth highest peak in Montana. The east, north, and southern slopes of Lone Peak are occupied by Big Sky Resort.
Big Sky Resort is a ski resort in the western United States, located in southwestern Montana in Madison County. An hour south of Bozeman via U.S. Highway 191 in Big Sky, Montana, it is the second-largest ski resort in the United States by acreage. Opened in late 1973, Big Sky Resort has more than 5,800 acres (9.1 sq mi; 23.5 km2) of terrain and a vertical drop of 4,350 feet (1,330 m).
Logging Requirements:
To log the find for this cache you must include in your log (preferred), or message to us (less preferred), a photo at the coordinates showing Lone Mountain in the background. Your photo should additionally include a unique identifying feature such as i) yourself/yourselves giving a 'thumbs up' (there's an example photo in the CO photo gallery, but note that you don't need to include your face if you'd prefer not. Also, if you are caching solo then a single thumbs up is OK (since you'll be holding your camera/phone with one hand!)), or ii) the photo can include your GPS, your phone, a geocoin/trackable or something showing your caching name. Any logs that don't include a photo, unless sent in a message, will be deleted. No web finds allowed.
