Ma zaledwie 185 m długości, a jest uznawana za najpiękniejszą ulicę w Gdańsku. O jej szczególnym charakterze, który wyróżnia ją spomiędzy innych ulic miasta, świadczą ozdobne przedproża, spotykane w takiej ilości tylko tutaj. Przedproża to zdobione schodki i maleńkie tarasy przed wejściami do budynków, charakterystyczne dla miast bałtyckich. Kolejną wyjątkową cechą tej ulicy są rzygacze, zwane też gargulcami, które służą do odprowadzania deszczówki.
Ulica Mariacka powstała prawdopodobnie w XIV wieku. W dawnych źródłach nazywano ją Frauengasse, ulicą Panieńską, a w źródłach łacińskich platea dominae Mariae lub platea dominae nostrae. W średniowieczu była ulicą zakładów szewskich i ław mięsnych. Pomiędzy ulicami Mariacką a równoległą do niej Świętego Ducha znajdował się budynek z jatkami, które posiadały ruchome blaty. W dzień służyły one do sprzedaży, a nocą do zamykania okna kramu. Dziś nie ma po nich śladu - część z nich została wyburzona, a część zniszczona w 1945 roku.
Ulica bardzo mocno ucierpiała podczas II wojny światowej. To, co da się zobaczyć na niej obecnie, to zrekonstruowane, odbudowane po wojnie kamieniczki. Powojenni budowniczowie wykonali swoją pracę z niesamowitą precyzją i starannością, dbając o architektoniczne detale. Odbudowane kamieniczki i przedproża zawierają liczne sceny biblijne, mitologiczne oraz wiele ornamentów.
Ulica ta położona jest między trzecią pod względem objętości świątynią na świecie zbudowaną z cegły, Bazyliką Mariacką, a gotycką Bramą Mariacką prowadzącą do Motławy. To z tymi dwoma punktami wiązać się będzie Twoje zadanie.

1. We wskazanym przez współrzędne skrytki punkcie widać tablicę z ogłoszeniami. Zrób zdjęcie siebie (nie musisz pokazywać twarzy) lub swojego urządzenia GPS na tle tej tablicy.
2. We wskazanym przez współrzędne waypointu punkcie można zobaczyć kamienną tabliczkę z nazwą ulicy. Zrób zdjęcie, jak wskazujesz ręką tę tabliczkę (nie musisz pokazywać twarzy).
Logi bez tych dwóch zdjęć będą usuwane.

It is only 185 meters long and is considered the most beautiful street in Gdańsk. Its special character, which distinguishes it from other streets in the city, is evidenced by the decorative porches, found only here in such a number. The porches are decorated steps and tiny terraces in front of the entrances to buildings, typical of Baltic cities. Another unique feature of this street are so-called "rzygacze", also known as gargoyles, which are used to drain rainwater.
Mariacka Street (St. Mary's Street) was probably established in the 14th century. In the old sources it was called Frauengasse, Panieńska Street, and in Latin sources, platea dominae Mariae or platea dominae nostrae. In the Middle Ages, it was a street of shoemakers and meat benches. Between Mariacka Street and Świętego Ducha Street (Holy Spirit Street), there was a building with slaughterhouses with movable tops. They were used for sale during the day and to close the window of the stall at night. Today there is no trace of them - some of them were demolished, and some were destroyed in 1945.
The street suffered a lot during World War II. What can be seen today are the reconstructed tenement houses rebuilt after the war. Post-war builders did their work with incredible precision, taking care of architectural details. The rebuilt houses and porches contain numerous biblical and mythological scenes and many ornaments.
This street is located between the third largest brick temple in the world, St. Mary's Church, and the Gothic St. Mary's Gate leading to the Motława River. Your task will be related to these two points.

To log the cache, you must take two photos at Mariacka Street and attach them to your entry.
1. In the point indicated by the cache coordinates, you can see a notice board. Take a photo of yourself (you don't need to show your face) or your GPS device in front of this board.
2. In the point indicated by the waypoint coordinates, you can see a stone plate with the name of the street. Take a photo as you point your hand at this plate (you don't need to show your face).
