This is a Virtual Cache - no container to find! Just read and follow directions.
I grew up swimming at Freeport Beach but I would have never dreamed of doing what one 24 year old woman did in 1993. On August 8, 1993 at 6 PM, a woman from North East, PA named Halli Reid became the first woman to swim across Lake Erie starting at Long Point, Canada. She swam a total of 26 miles and arrived at Freeport Beach at 10:30 AM on August 9, 1993. Since then the park is named after her as Halli Reid Park. These coordinates will take you to a plaque on a stone within the park that has this information printed on it.
To claim this virtual cache, you will need to begin at this stone with your back facing the water and walk SE about 100 paces (or less depending on your stride) to another stone located in the Park. Message or email me the answers to the following questions and include a photo of you standing at the Halli Reid stone with the water behind you (or just of the water and the stone if you are camera shy).
1.What is the last name of the last man listed on the plaque?
2. What year was this plaque dedicated?
3. Don't forget to send your picture!
