Eminescu's Linden Tree is a 540-year-old silver lime (Tilia tomentosa Moench) in Copou - it's one of the Romania's most important natural monuments .The lime tree underwent a series of major treatments, the first in 1953, when it was segmented following a storm, cleaned and supported on metal brackets.

In front of the lime tree is a bronze bust of Mihai Eminescu, the work of the sculptor Ion Mateescu. Mihai Eminescu's attachment to lime seems to be a Germanic nostalgia, from the period of his studies made by the poet in Vienna and Berlin. At his death, the poet was buried in Bellu Cemetery, under a lime tree.
