Ἀκράγας - VR 3.0 Virtual Cache

Tra i siti archeologici più grandi del mondo, la Valle dei Templi è adagiata sul crinale roccioso che delimita a sud l’altopiano su cui sorgeva l'antica Akragas: dichiarato nel 1997 Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall'UNESCO, è una delle più grandi e meravigliose testimonianze del mondo antico che si trovano sul territorio italiano insieme ai siti di Pompei ed Ercolano.

I templi greci, da secoli simboli della città di Agrigento, sono riconosciuti universalmente come la più affascinante e maestosa testimonianza che la Magna Grecia abbia lasciato in eredità alla Sicilia e all'Italia intera. 

ATTENZIONE: La Valle dei Templi è un parco archeologico, e in quanto tale l'accesso è a pagamento.

Se visitate la Valle dei Templi in piena estate è raccomandato arrivare la mattina presto per non dover effettuare l’intera visita sotto il sole cocente. Se non riuscite, meglio arrivare ben attrezzati con cappello e crema solare. In ogni caso vi consiglio di riservare 2 o 3 ore alla vostra visita.

Among the largest archaeological sites in the world, the Valley of the Temples lies on the rocky ridge that borders the plateau to the south on which ancient Akragas once stood: declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, it is one of the largest and most wonderful testimonies of the ancient world found in Italy together with the sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

The Greek temples, symbols of the city of Agrigento for centuries, are universally recognized as the most fascinating and majestic testimony that Magna Greece has bequeathed to Sicily and to all of Italy.

ATTENTION: The Valley of the Temples is an archaeological park, and as such access is subject to a fee.

If you visit the Valley of the Temples in the height of summer, it is recommended to arrive early in the morning so as not to have to make the entire visit under the scorching sun. If you are unable to avoid it, it's better to arrive well equipped with a hat and sunscreen. In any case, I advise you to reserve 2 or 3 hours for your visit.
