This is the bonus cache for our Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve Adventure Labs, which can be found here: https://adventurelab.page.link/Z7Z5
Dawlish Warren is an area of sand dunes, mudflats & beach at the mouth of the river Exe. It is an SSSI, Special Area of Conservation, a key part of the Exe Estuary Special Protection Area and a Wetland of International Importance, as well as a holiday resort enjoyed by 500,000 people a year.
Public access is available all year round but please respect the area and observe signs to avoid causing disturbance to wildlife at varying times. As certain areas are inaccessible at high tide or with dogs, and some of the paths through the dunes have been eroded by recent storms, we have restricted the AdLab to the nearer part of the reserve only, but the other end is more remote and well worth exploring.
There is a train station very nearby, 2 large paying car parks and you can even land at the far end by water taxi from Exmouth in season. You will need more than an hour to enjoy the area & complete the labs.
The resort itself, at the start of the reserve, has toilets, pub, icecreams, takeaways & shops. Please note that there are no toilets at the visitor centre.
As there is soft sand over much of the reserve, large areas are difficult to access with wheelchairs and pushchairs. However, there is an all-ability path that links the car park, resort, promenade and visitor centre and 3 of the stages for the adventure Labs are accessible from this path. The bonus information has been added to just the journal entries for these 3 waypoints. This cache is outside of the reserve and is accessible for wheelchair users.
