Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

Belair Baptist church. Congregation established 1864 and disbanded 1908, building sold and converted to a private house. Rich in history and character, this 1864 chapel conversion is a local landmark with soaring ceilings, arched windows, and a stone feature wall.

Following a failed attempt to establish a Baptist Congregation in Belair, the chapel was purchased by a prominent Adelaide merchant who used it as his summer residence. The property changed hands, and uses, three times in the following hundred years. In 1964, the owners renovated and restored the property; enclosing the rear and sides with additional rooms to protect the original building. These improvements formed the remainder of the home.

To find the cache complete the Wherigo cartridge found here (username and password is the same as you use on www.geocaching.com). With this information it is probably best to leave your car were it is parked and walk to the nearby cache location.
