I've been planning to place some more caches in this park that geodog Kacey and I came to often. We had to say goodbye to Kacey two days ago, so on February 25, 2022 I headed here to remember her and finally place some new caches. I attached her collar to my geopack and headed down the trail.
Geodog Kacey enjoyed being in the woods, but she rarely enjoyed toys, so she probably would have no interest in this cache, but other geodogs might. As I was looking for a good place to hide a cache, I spotted something in the leaves and upon inspection decided it would make a unique cache container. If you find something that looks like trash, don't discard it before inspecting it
Within the recent past, a new foot bridge has been installed at the bottom of the hill where the Paint Branch Trail turns North. This bridge has made access easy to a dirt trail on the other side of the creek. I took that trail as it wound its way up on a ridge. Not a lot of good hiding spots here, but I found a typical spot where you will find the cache.
Like me, you may be tempted to make a beeline to the cache: DON'T. Stay on the trail and it will lead to within 3' of the cache. The log is in a pill bottle which is placed in a larger host.
