Please enjoy this lovely area and replace the cache discretely as it has been stolen by Muggles a couple of times, this is sometimes a busy park.
In the 1970s, the then residents of Rowville would not have realized that 162 hectares of paddocks, south of Kelley’s Rd and East of stud Rd would become one of the most desirable residential communities in the eastern suburbs.
Late in 1970s Hooker Rex, a division of Hooker Corporation, bought these paddocks to develop a community now known as the Lakes.
Rowville Lakes encompasses three lakes; Sutton Lake, Hill Lake & Cogley Lake. This is a nice peaceful, quiet spot for a walk, fishing, or just wanting to take some time out for yourself.
You will always see ducks and other waterbirds when you come here, and depending what time of year, possibly even ducklings and chicks. There is an island in the middle of one of the lakes that is a bird sanctuary
There is a playground that features a slide, swing set and other play equipment. This makes it child-friendly. It's worth noting however, that ducks and birds are not to be fed. There are weeping willow trees and water lilies at one end of the lake.
Fish are regularly caught in the lakes and it's not unusual to see people with their fishing rods. The lakes are stocked with trout by the Department of Fisheries each year. This quiet, secluded area with access 24/7 is a nice local place to visit.
- 'Cache placed with the knowledge and approval of the Land Manager - Melbourne Water Authority.'
Please bring your own pen and take care of the Cache and replace it carefully, exactly as you found it.
Be aware of Muggles and replace discretely as it has been stolen a couple of times, this is sometimes a busy park.
