oder: der WIG Reise(-zeit-)simulator

Die Geschichte
Der am weitesten von den Header Koordindaten entfernte Cache GC6J2QG* ist etwas über 19250 km weg und liegt ungefähr in Richtung 30°. Wie sich dessen Listing entnehmen lässt, gilt dies nicht nur von hier aus, sondern auch von Lettland. Das gesamte Gebiet, für den dieser Cache der am weitesten entfernte ist, ist riesig: Es misst ungefähr von den Cevennen in Frankreich, über London und das Nordkap, bis hinter Moskau, nach Thessaloniki und schließlich bis Neapel.
Um diesen Cache zu erreichen, ist eine halbe Weltreise nötig (und das ist keine Übertreibung). Lange Zeit war jedoch eine Reise dorthin nicht möglich (aus bekannten Gründen) - zu diesem Zeitpunkt* entstand die Idee zu dieser Cartridge, um die Reise dorthin zumindest im Simulator erleben zu können:
Vom Flughafen in Frankfurt aus geht es mit mindestens einem Zwischenstopp in das Land der langen weißen Wolke, in dessen Hoheitsgebiet der Cache liegt. Von einem der internationalen Flughäfen sind dann noch ein oder zwei Inlandsflüge nötig, sowie eine 50 minütige Bootsfahrt. Selbst bei einer optimalen Verbindung liegt allein die Flugzeit deutlich über 24 Stunden - mit Check In, Umstiegszeiten, Einreise am Zoll, Biosicherheitskontrolle usw. sind es sogar weit mehr als 30 Stunden Reisezeit.
Bei einer touristischen Einreise im Zielland wird für 186 Nationalitäten kein Visum vorab benötigt, bzw. eines wird bei Ankunft ausgestellt. Jedoch muss vorab eine "elektronische Reisebevollmächtigung" beantragt werden.
Doch nun genug der Vorgeschichte.
Deine Aufgabe
Um an die Koordinaten der Dose zu gelangen sind 2 Teilaufgaben zu erfüllen:
1) die Cartridge absolvieren und
2) eine electronic Travel Authority beantragen und nach Bearbeitung abrufen.
Beide Aufgaben können gleichzeitig oder nacheinander begonnen werden, bei beiden bedarf es jedoch vor allem: Geduld.

Starte am Flughafen Frankfurt (Heimatflughafen FRA) und checke hier wie an jedem weiteren Flughafen die Fluganzeige um Deine nächste Verbindung unter Berücksichtigung der jeweiligen Zeitzone herauszufinden. Eine Übersicht über die möglichen Verbindungen findest Du unten bzw. in der Galerie. Du hast maximal 7 Tage Zeit um ans Ziel zu kommen.
Insgesamt kann es mehrere Tage dauern, bis die Cartridge durchgespielt ist. Der gesamte aktive Handlungsaufwand beträgt in Summe jedoch nur wenige Minuten - eben genau wie während eines Langstreckenfluges (außer man ist Teil der Crew) gibt es nur jede Menge Zeit totzuschlagen: Du kannst zwischen Abflug und Landung ein Buch lesen, einen Film anschauen, schlafen, ein paar Gymnastikübungen machen, Musik anhören usw. Im Gegensatz zu einem echten Flug kannst Du in diesem Reisesimulator sogar zwischendrin vor die Tür gehen - verpasse nur nicht den digitalen Anschlussflug.

Registriere Dich mit einem selbst gewählten Nicknamen in dem Formular und warte bis Dein Antrag genehmigt ist, um das benötigte Dokument frühestens 36 Stunden später abzurufen. Es werden keine realen personenbezogenen Daten abgefragt oder benötigt.
(Die Angabe einer Emailadresse ist optional um die Komfortzustellung zu nutzen. In der Regel wird die Email zeitnah zugestellt. Bei den Spamfiltern einiger Mailanbietern kann es jedoch auch zu Verzögerungen kommen - sollte die Email auch nach einiger Wartezeit nicht angekommen sein, wurde sie vermutlich vom Spamfilter ausgesiebt; wende Dich in diesem Fall per PN an mich.)

Allgemeines zu Wherigo Cartridges und deren Anwendung
ein Leifaden für ALLE Wherigo-Cartridges
Die Technik ist bereits deutlich in die Jahre gekommen und hat sich seit 2008 nicht mehr geändert. Die Player-Apps auf Smartphones sind in der Regel von Drittanbietern (also nicht von Groundspeak selbst) und laufen selbst nur unterschiedlich stabil.
Denke stets daran: Die Smartphone Player Apps simulieren GPS Geräte, die spätestens 2008 auf den Markt kamen.
Die folgenden Tipps zur generellen Anwendung von WIG Cartridges habe ich aus dem Forum und der Erfahrung anderer Nutzer zusammengetragen:
• Herunterladen der Cartridge immer über die Wherigo Website und dann z.B. via Cloud oder Kabel an das Smartphone übertragen - der Download über die Player-Apps führt besonders bei Android Geräten zu Codierungsfehlern. Dies führt unweigerlich zu Fehlern beim Ausführen der Cartridge.
• Zum sicheren Speichern des Spielstandes die Cartridge immer im Player beenden, besonders vor einem Wechsel in eine andere App. Lädt die App nach einem Wechsel in eine andere Anwendung neu, sind die Spielstände oft nicht richtig abgelegt.
• Immer mit der gleichen App die Cartridge wieder öffnen und weiterspielen.
• Starte ggf. mit einem Versuchsdurchlauf, um ein Gefühl für den Player und die Cartridge zu bekommen, und sicherzustellen, dass korrekt gespeichert wird.
• Die "low memory" Fehlermeldung kann gehäuft auftreten, wenn zu viele Cartridges in die Player-App geladen sind.

aka: the WIG travel (time) simulator
The story
The furthest cache from the header coordinates GC6J2QG*, is a little over 19250 km away and lies approximately in a bearing of 30°. As you can see from its listing, this is not only true from here, but also from Latvia. Actually ... the total area for which this cache is the furthest is huge: it measures roughly from the Cevennes in France, through London and the North Cape, to behind Moscow, to Thessaloniki and finally to Naples.
To reach this cache, you need to travel half a world (and that is no exaggeration). For a long time, however, travelling there was not possible (for well-known reasons) - at this point* the idea for this cartridge was born, in order to be able to experience the journey there at least in the simulator:
From the airport in Frankfurt, there is at least one stopover to the land of the long white cloud, in whose territory the cache is located. From one of the international airports, one or two domestic flights are then necessary, as well as a 50-minute boat trip. Even with an optimal connection, the flight time alone is well over 24 hours - with check-in, changeover times, entry at customs, biosecurity checks, etc., it is even more than 30 hours of travel time.
For tourist entry into the destination country, 186 nationalities do not require a visa in advance, or one is issued on arrival. However, an "electronic travel authorisation" must be applied for in advance.
But enough of the back story now.
Your task
In order to get the coordinates of the cache, 2 subtasks have to be fulfilled:
1) complete the cartridge and
2) apply for an electronic Travel Authority and retrieve it after processing.
Both tasks can be started at the same time or one after the other, but both require above all: patience

Start at Frankfurt Airport (Homebase FRA) and check the flight information here as at any other airport to find out your next connection, while also being in another time zone. You can find an overview of the possible connections below or in the gallery. You have a maximum of 7 days to reach your destination.
In total, it can take several days to play through the cartridge. However, the total time of active action is only a few minutes - just like during a long-haul flight (unless you are part of the crew) there is only a lot of time to kill: You can read a book, watch a movie, sleep, do some gymnastic exercises, listen to music etc. between take-off and landing. Unlike a real flight, in this travel simulator you can even go out the door in between - just don't miss the digital connecting flight.

It is a Wherigo cartridge - patience could be very helpful - and not just while waiting to get to the next stage.

The technology is already kind of archaic and has not changed since its inception in 2008. The player apps on smartphones are usually from third-party providers (so often even not from Groundspeak itself) and only run with varying degrees of stability.
Always remember: the smartphone player apps do simulate GPS devices from 2008 or even older.
The following tips on the general use of WIG cartridges I have gathered from the forum and the experience of other users:
• Download the cartridge always from the website and transfer it e.g. via cloud or cable to the smartphone - the download function within in the player-apps leads to coding errors, especially with Android devices - this results in a variety of errors during later gameplay.
• To assure a save of the progress correctly, always close the cartridge in the player, especially before switching to another app. If the app reloads after switching to another app, the game saves are often not stored correctly.
• Always reopen the cartridge with the same app and continue playing there.
• If necessary, start with a trial run to get a feel for the player and cartridge, and make sure it saves correctly.
• The "low memory" error message can occur frequently if too many cartidges are loaded into the player app.

Was die Cartridge dennoch nicht vermitteln kann - das Gefühl aus dem Flugzeug auszusteigen und ein fernes Land zu betreten.

What the cartridge cannot convey, however, is the feeling of stepping out of the plane and entering a distant country.
