Piazza della Vittoria fu realizzata negli anni trenta del secolo scorso su quella che era la piana costiera del torrente Bisagno, contestualmente alla copertura del torrente che ancora oggi scorre al di sotto del livello stradale a poche decine di metri dalla cache.
Lo stile architettonico e la grandiosità monumentale della piazza e dei suoi edifici ne rivelano la chiara origine razionalista.
Dello stesso periodo (1931) è l'Arco della Vittoria, che domina il centro della piazza, realizzato in memoria dei genovesi caduti nel corso della Prima Guerra Mondiale.

Piazza della Vittoria was built in the thirties of the last century on what was the coastal plain of the Bisagno stream which, since then, flows below street level a few tens of meters from the cache.
The architectural style and the monumental grandeur of the square and of its buildings reveal its clear rationalist origin.
In the same period (1931) the Arco della Vittoria, which dominates the center of the square, was built, in memory of the Genoese who fell during the First World War.
