The Geocaching Cronan Ranch is a series of caches to celebrate the Geocachers, events and all things Cronan Ranch.
Cronan Holiday is the 3rd Sunday of January! (as per Scoobert's Cronan Holiday cache) (Look for an event on this day next January)
This was the day (January 21, 2007) that a group of Geocachers gathered in the Cronan Ranch parking lot to go hide some caches. After meeting up in the lot we headed out to different parts of the park to find places to hide with a plan to meet up at the Movie set (Which still had a fake barn, chicken coop and well.) for lunch. When lunch was done we exchanged coordinates and headed out to beta test each other's hides. We add 17 new caches to the 20 caches that already exsisted and nearly doubled the the number of caches in the park to 37. The park now has more than 120 active caches as of this writing.

Who was there:
SillyScout, pirates 2+2, mistermac, The SierraHiker, Hikingirl, Species5618, Jeo, Scoobert, Mc5, jim&jackie, CASAS, Warriorrider, calkids, 3-Carver, and ClipperCreekWanderer

This cache is placed in the same grove of trees that Crotchety Jim used to be hidden in. I stole the name Cronan Hoilday from one of Scoobert's cache names but since he was referencing the day and declared the Hoilday on that page I felt I could use it for this purpose.
Scoobert also mentions this day on his archived cache page for "Inspired by Frog Legs".
And as a bonus I even got to meet SillyScout on the way out to hide it
!
Additionally, I got to meet a few other cachers whose names I've seen and appreciated but never got to meet in person... pirates 2+2 & mistermac. And of course I enjoyed part of the day chatting with other cachers I had already met (albeit some very briefly) including The Sierra Hiker and Hikingirl, Species5618, Jeo & Mc5, jim&jackie, CASAS, Warriorrider, calkids, and last and furthest from least 3-carver.
And dang, I hear we just missed ClipperCreekWanderer
Thanks to everyone who showed up and made this such a fun and memorable day and I hope all the future visitors enjoy it as well!
General Note: Remember to be careful out here at Cronan Ranch. In the Summer drink lots of water and use a stick or hiking pole to poke around so that the snakes will let you know if they are there.
Snakes, Geocaches and Poison Oak frequently occur in similar places. When I hid the cache the poison oak was easily avoidable and or it was the winter time. Now however conditions may be different. If there is a snake guarding any of my Geocaches you don't need to sign the log, but you owe me a good online log telling me why you didn't sign the log. Make it a good one.
If you noticed my Geocaching Cronan Ranch series is missing any caches please let me know. My records are not complete.
Please share any memories related to the Cacher or finding their cache in your log for others to enjoy.
Thank you, P-Hill Trekker
