A Traditional Cache celebrating the mundane things that keep us safe and dry

For many years I have been aware that this small creek had a surprising name. The Beggs-Workman drain. In fact most of the small creeks around South Mountain have names that recall days gone by. They are named after the people that used them to enable agriculture and keep lands from flooding. In the spring or after a heavy rain this drain can be quite active, moving the runoff water down and into the South Nation River. A little to the north-east, the Shaver-Harper Drain flows into the Beggs-Workman drain before heading under the road and into the river.
