This is a geocache dedicated to our brother, Jay, who passed away February 18th, 2022. Jay lived his life to the fullest, in spite of many "curveballs" thrown his way! For seven years of his life he was the batboy for the Broncos at this field. Coach Scolinos made him a part of the team and Jay's life was never the same!! In those seven years, the players and coaches treated him like a little brother and Jay adored them! He traveled all over with the team and even won a National Championship in 1983! This field has so many special memories... and now, our son is an assistant baseball coach for the Broncos so the choice was easy for "Jaybird's" tribute cache!
The cache is placed in this "baseball eating" monster! Please be careful and gentle when searching for the container... do not damage the host! Be prepared to get dirty when retrieving the log. The cache container is attached to the host, do not take it out. You will find a bison which is connected to the container, as well. The log is in the bison tube.
Stealth is very important when grabbing this cache, especially during baseball season! It is a college campus, so students will be around during school hours. Technically you need a permit to park close to gz but you should be able to get in and out quickly with no problems, just be alert!
My sister, our Mom and I painted this container and I've included the names of our families on the container. We loved our "Jaybird" and miss him dearly but know that he is in a better place! We hope you enjoy finding this cache! Be safe, live life to the fullest and love one another!
