Just another cache in Lacamas Park. We were out exploring the trails the other day when we happened to spot an ammo can poking out of a disintigrating log in the Camas Lily Fields. A little research showed it to be the remains of a cache placed by sweetseven called "Off the Beaten Path", which was thought missing and was archived back in 2013. The contents were still in pretty good shape (a few muggles had stumbled upon the cache recently and signed it, but no geocachers as far as we could tell) but since 2013 the area in which it was hidden had been designated a fragile ecological environment and a number of other caches had sprung up in close proximity.
Rather than pack out the defunct geocache, we decided to clean up the container and move it slightly, then reactivate it for future cachers. Thus, "Off The Beaten Path, Reborn". Original (still accurate) text of the cache description: "Camo ammo can with neon Geocache decal on the side, hidden in the woods." Cache is a bit off the trail (but in a low-impact/easy to bushwhack area). Cache is within the park, but be aware of muggle activity outside of the nearby houses overlooking the forest. Enjoy!
