Geocache Description:

30 March 2024, 08:00 - 17:00

Welcome to the Canberra Geobash 5 day event

The Oz Mega Committee looks forward to welcoming geocachers from all over to the first mega event held inside the ACT. Canberra is the capital of Australia. Our mascot is Gangles the endemic Gang-Gang Cockatoo, a bird you may well see or hear while you are in the area. The event times will commence from 8am Thursday 28 March and conclude on Easter Monday 1 April at 9pm.

Canberra Park

Our home base of Canberra Park is located adjacent to EPIC (Canberra Showgrounds) on the Federal Highway, only 6 kms from the centre of the city. Canberra Park is an ideal location from where to explore all of Canberra's geocaching locations.

Canberra Park is the largest and newest group accommodation facility in the Canberra region. Canberra Park has been designed to specifically meet the needs of groups travelling to Canberra and is ideal for geocachers.

The spacious, purpose-built accommodation buildings include contemporary guest rooms, 500 beds with ensuite bathrooms, group-leader rooms and communal living spaces. A large open-plan dining room offers three meals throughout the day and doubles as a dynamic geocaching stallholder and activities area.

There will be only 7 powered tent camping spots and 70 powered caravan style sites available amongst the action for attendees to hire. The camping area features one of the best camp kitchens in Australia. Numerous stallholders will host great displays in the main building. There are no un-powered tent sites available.

Caterers will be on hand for all your meals from breakfast Thursday to dinner Monday with a fine array of family-friendly priced meals.
