Maneet Chauhan was born in India. After graduating from the Welcome Group Graduate School of Hotel Administration, she came to the US and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2000 where she focused on baking and pastry. Her specialty is Indian cuisine and she is a master of spices. Maneet is a James Beard Award winner and she has several restaurants, all of which are in Nashville, TN: Chauhan Ale & Masala House (a microbrewery and gastropub), Indian street food restaurant Chaatable, Chinese restaurant Tansuo, and modern diner The Mockingbird which serves global foods. She is a frequent judge on Chopped and on Guy’s Grocery Games. She won season 2 of Guy's Tournament of Champions.
