Dinas Dinlle, the Disappearing Coastline Traditional Cache

Erosion by the sea is a substantial problem here only a few years ago the tarmac path stretched the whole length of the beach. A groyne built in 1994 to help alleviate the erosion problem was thought to be a mistake and had made the situation worse. In 2013 the height of the groyne was reduced with large boulders removed slowing the erosion. Climate changes have seen an increase in violent storm activity making coastal erosion an on going problem.
