Geocache Description:

02 April 2022, 18:30 - 19:00

About the Event

It looks like the Saturday, 2nd April 2022 is going to be a full day of caching in Gloucester so what better way to bring it to an end than with a short get together at Barnwood Park?

Join us to share the spoils of your day's caching at the park between 18:30 and 19:00.  If you've got any trackables that you still want to drop off, this could also be a good opportunity for them to change hands!

About the Park

Barnwood Park is a small greenspace with an attached Arboretum.  It's popular with locals and dogwalkers alike - please be mindful of them and, if you bring a geohound, please pick up after them.  At various times of year, there can be livestock in the Arboretum, if there are, please make sure that any geohounds are keep on a lead.

There is limited parking available directly outside the park on Church Lane and a few more spaces to be found outside nearby St Lawrence's Church.  The park is also easily accessible from Barnwood Road, which is regularly serviced by the Number 10 bus route from both Cheltenham and Gloucester.

What Makes 2nd April 2022 So "Busy"?

On 2nd April 2022, there will be three different events hosted in Gloucester with three different icons:

For anyone trying to increase the number of different Geocache types that they've found in a single day, there are plenty of options around in Gloucester to help.  For anyone who hasn't cached in the city before, you should easily be able to claim the following types:

  • Traditional
  • Multi-cache
  • Mystery
  • Earthcache
  • Letterbox
  • Virtual
  • Wherigo
  • Adventure Lab

This means a grand total of 11 cache types are available for you to find in the day.  If you haven't logged the Locationless cache GC8NEAT yet, you could even ramp it up to 12!

It seems appropriate here to briefly acknowledge the long-departed Cheltenham webcam cache, Chelt-e-cam (GCPVTX), which could have taken the count even higher!
