Farrell flat is a small town North of Adelaide approx 150 kilometres and only 20 kilometers from Clare over the hills. Farrell Flat was actually origionally named Hanson but then in the 1800"s the name of the Town was chosen as Farrell Flat. farrell flat was survey 1870 was origionally part of Gum Creek station, the rail way line was the former line from Roseworthy to Peterborough as the train passed through the town of Farrell Flat near the local silos, which were used for grain storage for several years. Farrell Flat silos shut to Grain deliveries leaving the silos as a stand still. The Silos remained closed and is now privately Owned and with the Goverment Drought funding the Town decided to have the silos painted of the Train coming into the station with wheat representing the grain industry. But there is a secret hidden in the Silo art a Elephant, the Elephant is hiddenwell. As there is a story that a Cicus came to Town with animals on the train and while the Elephant was giving Birth passed away. A relative Oscar told me this story as a young Child and the Tusks from the Elephant hung in his shed when we would visit Oscar would tell us the story and show us the tusk. But eventually after Oscar passed away the Elephant Tusks where donated to a museum. So now see if you can find the Elephant hidden in the Silo art work.
