The Series
The Athens Awesome Athletic Multi Adventure series is a group of 12, 2-stage multicaches set up to highlight sports in Athens. Of course, when we talk about sports in Athens, we are talking about the University of Georgia (UGA)! The series is the work of poeanne, Pitty Pat, and GeoMonkeyTiger!.
Each multicache will feature a particular sport at UGA. The first stage of each multicache will take you someplace important to that sport. You will need to observe the area to answer the question posed on the cache page. Enter your answer into Certitude. Your reward for the correct answer will be the coordinates to the final as well as 1/12th of the code you will need to enter to unlock the coordinates for GC9PWQJ - 13- Athens Awesome Athletic Multi Adventure BONUS!
The finals for this series are a relatively short distance away and fairly close together. It may make sense to gather the stage 1 requirements for all the caches in the series before heading to the stage 2 locations.

The Sport - Track and Field 🏃♀️
Track and field is one of the oldest sports at the University of Georgia, first competing intercollegiately in 1897, five years after the inaugural football unit began play and just one year after the first baseball team took to the diamond.
Interest in track and field at UGA began in the late 1800s with the annual intramural field days. After 10 years of field days, the University participated in its first intercollegiate track contest at the 1897 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association meet in Nashville, Tenn., where Georgia accumulated 13 points to secure a fourth-place finish out of 14 teams.
The school's first dual meet came a year later against Georgia Tech with UGA taking a 75-30 victory.
Regarded as track and field pioneers in the state of Georgia, The Atlanta Constitution noted in a May 26, 1894 article that "the University was much further along with their track program than any other state school."
