This is a two-part multi cache. The final is about half a mile from the initial point and you can walk or bike or drive to get there, your choice.
Watson Park is named for Fred Watson, mayor of San Jose from 1948-1950. It comprises over 26 acres adjacent to Coyote Creek and includes picnic areas, playgrounds, soccer fields, basketball courts, and an off-leash dog park.
But that is not why you are here. Starting in 1936, brothers Frank, Sam, and Anthony Dorsa owned and operated a food company in San Jose. In the 1950s Frank, the inventor of the trio, created a machine that could make thousands of waffles per hour. This made the mass production of frozen waffles possible. The brothers called them Froffles (for "frozen waffles") and they soon became very popular. Customers had another name for them, though, inspired by their egg flavor, and they are still known by this name.
In 1961 the brothers opened a waffle factory located on a street now named for the frozen waffles. Look east across the park and you can see the factory to the right of the broadcast antennas. The factory has made frozen waffles since 1961 though the Dorsa brothers sold their product and factory in 1966 and it eventually became the propery of a large, well-known, mutlinational food manufacturing company.

The final cache is located about one half mile away. The coordinates for the final are:
N 37° 21.0AB' W 121° 52.9CD'
