This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.
A little history
Penwortham Methodist church
Demolished in 1979, all that remains now is an obelisk commemorating the pioneers that built the church at this site in 1857and a small cemetery. The church was used from 1857 through to 1968. The Wesleyan chapel opened in 1858 and a supper room in 1897 that was also used for various community meetings. For its centenary year a porch was added.
