Geocache Description:

Fire has etched a huge psyche in the everyday thinking in this country.  From very early on fast detection was considered of the upmost importance. Currently we have about 55 still operating, and the government is cutting the number on a regular basis.

A variety of tower designs have been used through Victoria, as can be seen in this document produced by former forester and now Forestry Historian Peter Mchugh

firelookoutsdownunder.com/Photos/Victoria/fire_towers_and_lookouts.pdf

This wooden tower design that is here on Mt Little Dick is the most intact of the wooden towers left.  It is the only one that still has a cabin on top.

It is best described as the last one.

There is a variety of routes to get up to find this location, Siri took me, up a driveway to a dead end, so pre plan your visit.  The final coordinates are S37 39.500 E147 49.681.  Please leave the stamp and feel free to include a couple of photos of the tower.
