This walkway has been developed by members of the Cardiff Branch of Federated Farmers to coincide with the centennial of the Cardiff School and District in May 1986. Provision was made for a short side track which ends at a cliff-top look out platform giving views of Mt Taranaki , a 55metre gas pipeline bridge, Cardiff factory, hall, school and surrounding farmlands, through to the Matemateaonga Range anthe the mountains of the central north island.
