Many people do not know that the farm Toorfontein vied with the farm Eenzaamheid to become a municipality.
Eventualy, the farm Eenzaamheid won, and was established as the town Murraysburg.

One of the most beautiful young women stayed on a farm in the wild Central Karoo, all the children in that family was beautiful, and well brought up, but if someone came to the farm, she would run and hide in the veld. Eventually, to stop the wild rumors and curious people, the family would insist that she did not exist.
Mean spirited people would call her a ghost, or a witch, but the real story was way sadder.
It seemed that when she went to the big city to study, she had been assaulted and abused, and that here in the Karoo, full of its own unique beautiful life, she could find her peace, away from the cruel world.
